Simmons Library
Building
Monumental structure designed by D.H.
Burnham in neoclassical revival style; located in Library Park,
and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in
1974. Built in 1900. Used for general library
services to adults and children. Gross Area -- 9,045
sq. ft. with basement. Usable public space -- 3,800
sq. ft (main floor and mezzanine). Children's Room to open
in early 2005 -- 1,500 sq. ft. (ground floor).
