Internet Movie Database - Extensive film indexing project with over 100,000 titles. Searching can be done using a wide variety of fields. Detailed listings of performers, technicians, writers, box office returns, etc. Probably the best overall movie site.

All-Movie Guide - Movie reviews and star biographies searchable by title and performer, and browsable by mood and genre. The on-line version of the book by the same name.

Based on the Book - A compilation of over 1200 books, short stories and plays that have been made into movies dating back to 1980. Provides lists by movie title, movie release date, book title and book author. Compiled by Mid-Continent Public Library.

Metacritic Film - Scores movies based on reviews from magazines and newspapers across the country. A brief description of the movie is given as well as excerpts from the reviews and links to the full written reviews.

Motion Picture Association of America - Provides detailed explanations of the movie ratings, as well as other topics related to the business of movies.

Movie Review Query Engine - Provides links to movie reviews for over 36,000 films. You may search by title or bring up categorized lists of titles including new theater or video releases, top ten at the box office, film festivals and UK releases along with several others.

Reel Classics - Lots of information pertaining to classic movies, including the stars, the films and the movie makers. Some of the star pages are still being worked on, but even those provide some basic background and links to other sites about the person. The more complete ones include a biography, filmography, articles, awards, a bibliography and more. There are also general and specific articles about movies and movie making. Under the features link on the left is a great list of celebrity addresses.

Screen It! - Entertainment reviews for parents. Provides very specific information on each movie's content that may be objectionable for children, as well as a synopsis of the plot. Covers new releases as well as titles on video. Some of the details might be considered "spoilers". Nonmembers need to click on the "no thanks" button at the very bottom of the home page to access the reviews.

Silent Era - A growing site presenting information on the silent films. Includes news, filmographies, listings of lost films and DVD releases.

Upcoming Movies - Comprehensive information concerning movies that are not yet released. Look by title, actors and actresses, genre or release date. Includes movies as far as 5 years away and some that are just in the rumor stage.

Wisconsin TV Stations - Stations are listed by channel number. Information includes cities served, owner name and links to the station and network websites.

Northern Illinois TV Stations - Same as above, but for northern Illinois TV stations. Covers Chicago and Rockford areas.

U. S. TV and Radio Station Directory - 100,000 Watts - Lists of links for broadcast networks (which includes some commonly thought of as cable networks, such as SciFi and EWTN) and cable networks. Also provides local area stations listed by state.

Wisconsin Public Television - Schedules and program information for the State of Wisconsin's public television network.

I Saw It On TV - A comprehensive guide to sources of TV shows on video. Arranged by network. Includes Canadian shows and some other international sources. Also has a link to a long list of other media resources on the web.

TVLINK: Film and Television Website Archive - points to almost anything you can think of relating to film and television. Categories include television shows, motion picture production companies, screen and video professional organizations, awards (Oscar, Emmy, and Tony), and world TV schedules.

TV.com - Gives information on TV shows past and present including lists of episode titles and air dates, episode synopses for many shows and character and star lists. Also provides current listings.

Zap2it.com/TV - Formerly Ultimate TV. Presents news, listings, ratings and other information from the TV world.

Milwaukee Area Radio Stations - List of AM and FM stations in order of frequency. Links to web sites provided when they exist. Clicking on icon brings up more detailed information.

Radio-Locator - Find stations listed by location, frequency or format as well as streaming radio on the Internet. Includes many international stations. Lists provide links to station web sites.
